What is reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese word representing Universal Life Force, the energy around us and within us. Reiki is a way of activating, directing and applying natural energy for the promotion of health, healing, balance and wholeness. This form of healing is an holistic creative energy and therefore useful for preventing imbalance, assisting the body’s natural healing powers and maintaining the rebalance as a state of well being.

What happens in a session?

The client determines if there is a specific issue to be worked on (illness, stress etc) and is then invited to sit on a comfortable chair or lie on the therapist couch

During reiki a sense of calm is usually the first thing felt, but heat, cold, tingling are also common physical sensations, as of course is the sensation of no sensation!

Reiki is channeled by the body’s inherent intelligence to where it is needed most

Many people get an immediate response, however the reiki often continues after the conclusion of the session
